Freaky Coincidence Helps a Missing Boy Reunite with His Father

"I was in a taxi and decided to look outside the window, I saw a boy and he looked familiar, just as I turned my head back in the taxi I saw the same boy's picture on a missing person notice. It's really a freaky coincidence."
4 students of Shandong Normal University were returning to school on the same day and took the same taxi to share the costs. On the way, Wang Aoqi, one of the students, glanced outside the window of the taxi and saw a man who was wearing shabby clothes and slippers at the time that it is very cold outside.
He couldn't take his eyes off the man because he seemed very familiar, but he couldn't quite put his finger on how he knew him until he turned his head on a notice of a missing person placed in the taxi.
He asked the driver to pull over and the four got off taxi running towards the man while shouting his name, but the man just waved to them saying "No, I am not the person you are looking for."
The four were stunned but did believe that the missing person is actually the one who is standing right in front of them. They decided to call the contact number left on the missing person notice and confirmed that he is the one.
The missing person is a high school student in Heze, he ran away from home in February, by the time he was found, he had been away from home for more than ten days.
While waiting for the boy's parents to arrive at the scene, the four communicated with him, offering advice from a young person's perspective and comfort him.
Worried that he might run away, they tried various ways to make him trust them and about forty minutes later, the boy's father arrived at the scene.
Seeing his child shaken with cold and only wearing slippers, the father immediately took off his own shoes and helped his son put on the shoes while he was left barefooted.
The boy's father shared that his son has been a very smart student, ranking among the top 4 in his class. But when he went to high school, no matter how hard he studied his results were not as good, this must have been a trigger for him to run away from home.
The four have gained netizens' appreciation and praise for their quick thinking and action, saving someone who they don't even know at the expense of their own late return to school amid the pandemic.
Wang, who was the first person to notice the boy, said as the father was leaving with the boy, he noticed the boy holding an empty spring water bottle and wanted to throw it away, but the boy held it dearly and never let go.
He had given the boy a bottle of water to comfort him when they were pursuading him to stay with them while waiting for his father. The boy didn't throw away the bottle as a show of appreciation to him.
"I was really moved," Said Wang.
